How We
Work

Every job follows a methodical, product-specific process. No shortcuts. Each stage exists for a reason — and understanding why makes the difference between a good result and a lasting one.

Polishing a contaminated surface grinds grit and salt into the gelcoat, causing micro-scratches and permanent damage. Pre-cleaning is non-negotiable.

  • Salt crystals and road grit act as abrasives under a polishing pad
  • Wax residues interfere with compound adhesion and final results
  • Biological growth must be fully removed before any machine work begins
  • A clean surface lets abrasives work correctly — and safely

Our multi-stage polishing process is adapted to each vessel's condition, finish type, and gelcoat depth.

  • Stage 1 — Inspection: Assessment of oxidation level, defects, and gelcoat thickness
  • Stage 2 — Pre-wash: Koch Chemie SFR strip wash to remove salt, wax, and contamination
  • Stage 3 — Compound: Machine compounding to remove oxidation and heavy surface defects
  • Stage 4 — Polish: Finishing polish to refine clarity and maximise gloss depth
  • Stage 5 — Protection: Hand wax, sealant, or Ceramic Pro coating as the final protective layer

Preparation is the foundation. No matter how good the polish or coating, a poorly prepared surface will always limit the result.

  • Decontamination removes embedded fallout, salt, and biological material
  • Wax stripping ensures coatings bond directly to the gelcoat — not over old product
  • Paint depth readings determine the safest level of correction for each panel
  • Panel-by-panel inspection identifies problem areas before machine work begins

Each wash type is selected for a specific outcome. Using the wrong wash at the wrong stage costs time and compromises results.

  • Strip Wash (SFR): Removes wax and sealant layers — essential before polishing or coating
  • Salt-Neutralising Wash: Penetrates and dissolves salt in tight areas, preventing long-term corrosion
  • Maintenance Wash: pH-neutral, wax-safe formula for regular wash downs without stripping protection
  • Ceramic Wash: Formulated to safely clean Ceramic Pro–coated surfaces and boost hydrophobic properties

As certified installers, our application follows manufacturer protocol precisely — ensuring maximum bond strength and coating longevity.

  • Surface must be fully polished, decontaminated, and free of oils and waxes
  • Application in controlled conditions — avoiding direct sun, wind, and humidity
  • Panel-by-panel levelling with specialist suede applicator cloths
  • Flash time monitored per panel for optimal cure before buffing
  • Multi-layer application for 9H packages — each layer fully cured before the next
  • Final cure protection period of 24–48 hours before water contact
